  Welcome Quilters!

Come inside for a tour of the shop.  I'd like to welcome you to Quilter's Harvest.  The shop is located on Main Street in downtown Higginsville, Missouri.  The building was built in the early 1900's and still has the original tin ceiling.

Quilter's Harvest opened its doors for business on September 11, 2000.  When you come in our front door you are greeted by the Welcome sign on the barn wood bird house and antique push cart that was used at the Leahy factory here years ago.

Another antique piece that we have in the shop is this counter that we use for a cutting table that was originally from Detert's Drug Store.  It had been in the basement for many years and was covered with dirt and old paint.  It took a lot of sweat and hard work to renovate, but we're happy with the results.

We also have  barn wood furniture, such as this bench, the single door cabinet like the one in the corner, double door cabinets and bird houses.

We really appreciate the support we've been given for our business.  Thanks for visiting us on-line.  If you haven't been to see us at the store, please do so soon.  We'd love to see you!

Donna and I met several years ago when the Partner's In Patchwork Quilt Guild was formed in Higginsville.  We both have a love of quilting and after much discussion decided to open a shop together.  In January 2005, Donna retired and I purchased her half of the business and am having a ball.

Quilter's Harvest is continually increasing their inventory of fabrics, books, patterns, and notions.  If there is a specific item you are in need of, please let me know.  I will do everything that I can to locate it for you.  Quilter’s Harvest will be a place where you can get a friendly greeting and a feeling that you want to spend some time here.

Quilter’s Harvest offers coordinated quilt kits, block-a-month programs, special projects, and events.  We are working to keep our class schedule updated.  If you have time, please check it out.  Hope one or two will be of interest and you’ll join us!

Quilter's Harvest has also begun selling Janome Sewing Machines and sergers.  Come in and test-sew yours today.  We will also be going to classes so that we can do in-house cleaning and servicing on the Janome sewing machines.

Again this year we're doing the Thimbleberries quilt club which meets the first Thursday night and the first Friday morning of each month and available on-line.  We also have a Second Saturday $5 Sampler Club which meets, you guessed it, the second Saturday morning of each month.  We've had such a great response to Second Saturday that we now have two sessions, one at 9 am and the other at 10:30 am.  This year we are doing the pieced blocks in  reproduction fabrics from the 1840-1900's and to go along with them we have Wild Flowers Going West appliqué blocks.

Other attractions in the area are the Confederate Memorial State Historical Site and the new Missouri Veterans Cemetery.  Not far away (13 miles) is Lexington, which has an abundance of antique shops and a lot of civil war history (The Battle of Lexington).  So when you come to visit our shop, allow some extra time to visit some of the other places of interest in our area.

Thanks for stopping by,  Pam Fisher and staff
